Nottingham's care alarm service gets credit from TSA
Nottingham’s care alarm service, Nottingham on Call (NOC) is again accredited for its quality of service by the TSA.
The TSA is the representative body for technology enabled care (TEC) services. It works on behalf of a range of organisations. It provides telecare and telehealth services. Its job is to set out a nationally recognised quality standards framework and assess companies against this framework. All organisations like Nottingham on Call are expected to work to this framework. They are required to make sure their service meets or exceeds the standards set out in this framework.
Each year NOC has an independent external audit of its operations to keep on top of standards. Nottingham’s care alarm service has again been successful. It is being awarded its accreditation.
The audit took place in September 2024. Nottingham on Call provided a range of supporting evidence in advance for the auditor to review and there was an inspection meeting. In addition, the Auditor listened to three randomly chosen call recordings provided by the service. These were found to be compliant. All three calls followed procedures and were particularly good with deterioration checks, staying on the line with the service users until help arrived. Of the 41 individual standards which apply to the service provided by Nottingham on Call we were compliant in all 41. In other words there were no service areas where we were judged to be inadequate or require improvement.
In summary the auditor said “Overall, this has been another challenging year for Nottingham on Call and will continue to be challenging going forward. However, the service has demonstrated it is well managed, its staff have maintained their morale, and customers continue to give consistently good feedback on the outcomes achieved”. The Auditor recommends that Nottingham on Call, Nottingham City Council is granted certification to the Quality Standards Framework.
Antony Dixon of Nottingham on Call, said: “We are justifiably proud of this achievement. We are committed to continuously improving both the quality and range of services that we offer to our customers. Our team works incredibly hard and this result is a real testament to their dedication and commitment.”
