Nottingham on Call going digital is progressing well!

Nottingham on Call is going digital - with all existing landline based care alarms needing to be switched over to a digital version by January 2027. You can read all about the digital switchover on this page of our website: Digital Switchover

At the same time, our response service is also going digital to make sure that all calls we received will be on digital lines.

We're making great progress...

With more than 4,000 customers with a care alarm plugged into their home landline, it's been a real challenge to get customers fully switched over by the 2027 deadline. but we're making great progress!

More than 60% of customers now have a digital care alarm connected to Nottingham on Call - with 95% of residents living in Nottingham City Council's independent living communities, who want a care alarm, having a digital one.

National campaign

There's now a national campaign being driven by BT and Virgin Media, supported by the UK Government to help raise awareness of the digital switch and to encourage customers who have a landline to contact their provider to arrange to get their landlines switched over to a digital hub (for making telephone calls).
