Funding secured to support end of life care

Nottingham on Call is pleased to announce that it has managed to secure funding for end of life care, a much needed service for the community of Nottingham.

Many people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness will want the peace of mind and security of a service from Nottingham on Call.

This can also reduce anxiety levels of loved ones at a very challenging time.

Having now secured some funding from NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, Nottingham on Call can enable those meeting an eligibility criteria to have a free service. This means that when speaking to a customer or family member, potentially difficult conversations around costs and charging can be avoided. Instead the focus can be on getting a quick installation arranged to support an individual and give the family peace of mind and much needed help at a hard time. To meet the eligibility to person at the end of life must be under a Fast Track service provided through health.

Becky Jackson-Makin, Nottingham on Call Service Advisor, says – “I can deal with people at the end of life, their family or nursing professionals supporting them as much as I can.  Having to mention charges can be difficult due to sensitivities, and some people who really need our service in the last months of their life can turn it down based on cost.  It will make a real difference in being able to support some terminally ill people knowing that cost will not be a barrier”.
