Falls Lifting pilot tackling ambulance waits
Falls lifting pilot launches this month to help you continue to live independently in your home.
The Falls Lifting pilot is included in all of our current care monitoring packages. The team don’t ask you to pay any additional charge for this service. It is included in all of our packages.
This service is available to help you stay safer
Sadly falling in the home is a more regular occurrence if you are elderly or vulnerable.
Currently, the team calls for an ambulance if a customer contacts us to report a fall.
In most cases the customer is not actually injured, but they are unable to get up independently. The situation is not treated as urgent by the ambulance service. Sometimes this is leaving people on the floor for up to five hours. This can cause further complications while we wait for the ambulance to arrive.
The new Falls Lifting service offers you peace of mind
We have set up the Falls Lifting Pilot with the Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group and the Urgent Care Board.
The fully trained call handlers offer triage support over the phone to the customers. When we speak to you about a fall, we decide if you are injured or not. If you are then we set the Falls Lifting service into operation.
What happens next?
We aim to get to you within 30 minutes to help you get back on your feet.
If you aren’t injured on our arrival then we call for an ambulance. The call is treated more urgently at this point by the ambulance service.
The Falls Lifting team also has expert assistance from the NEMS service over the phone if they need more medical advice.
If you don’t have any injuries, then our trained Falls Lifting team will be able to assist you.
We lift you without injuring ourselves
Please watch our video (below) to view the clever piece of equipment we will use to lift you up safely.
As you can see there is no risk to us, as we just set up the surrounding equipment. All the lifting is done by the equipment to bring you up to a comfortable seated position. This is almost to the point of standing. We make sure you are well and happy before we leave you to get on with your day.
