This month we are launching a Falls Lifting pilot to help you continue to live independently in your home.
Our Falls Lifting pilot is included in all of our current care monitoring packages. We won’t ask you to pay any additional charge for this service.
Why have we set this up?
Sadly falling in your home can become more of a regular occurrence if you are elderly or vulnerable.
Currently our team will have to call for an ambulance if a customer contacts us to report a fall.
In most cases our customer is not actually injured, they are just unable to get up independently. This sort of situation is not treated as urgent by the ambulance service. This can leave people on the floor for up to five hours. In some cases this can cause further complications while we wait for the ambulance to arrive.
What does our new Falls Lifting service offer you?
We set up the Falls Lifting Pilot with the Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group and the Urgent Care Board.
It sees our fully trained call handlers provide triage support over the phone to our customers. If we speak to you about a fall and decide that you haven’t been injured, we will then set the Falls Lifting service into operation.
What would happen next?
We will aim to get to you within 30 minutes to help you get back on your feet.
On arrival, if we determine that you are injured, then we will call for an ambulance. The call then will be treated more urgently at this point.
Our Falls Lifting team will also have expert assistance from the NEMS service over the phone if they need more medical advice.
If it seems however that you don’t have any injuries, then our trained Falls Lifting team will be able to assist you.
How will we lift you without injuring ourselves?
Please watch our video (below) to view the clever piece of equipment we will use to lift you up safely.
As you will see there is no risk to us, as we can just set up the equipment around you. All of the lifting is done by the equipment to bring you up to a comfortable seated position, which is almost to the point of standing. We will then make sure you are well and happy before we leave you.
